Backyard Oktoberfest Review:
Pours a rich copper with a 1 1/2 to 2 inch head. The smell was perfect as this was my first Oktoberfest beer of the season. Smelled of roasted malts and bread. The taste of the malts was readily apparent with a touch of caramel and slight hops. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and was easy to drink.
I think Sam nailed it with this style. I gave it the same points as its American's counter-part Shiner. However, the overall taste is smoother which I think goes more along the lines of what the Germans' intended. Best value?
This beer is very malty in a good way. It has a nice finish with a creamy mouthfeel. It is a good American version of the Oktoberfest style.

Decent head - Good lacing - mild aroma, very mild - very drinkable - well balanced - copper colored - one of my favorite Oktoberfests
Great lacing and very malty. Smooth taste and a great fall beer.
